Dear CPSC 223 Students, Lectures will resume at the usual (New Haven) time on Monday, March 23rd. The platform will be Zoom, and you can join the recurring meeting via Canvas or directly at https://yale.zoom.us/j/657245492 . The lectures will be recorded and available on Canvas. I am hoping to resume office hours starting on Sunday, March 22nd, again using Zoom. In addition to the usual shifts there will be a shift from 7am to 10am (New Haven time) on Monday through Thursday to accommodate those of you who are in Europe or Asia. The details are still being worked out, but will be announced soon. As a result of the disruption and to give you more time to get acclimated to working remotely, I am pushing the due dates for the last three assignments back by a week each so that the schedule will be What When Due Spec Script ~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~~~ Program #4 04/03 (F) 02/26 03/13 Program #5 04/17 (F) 04/01 04/10 Program #6 05/01 (F) 04/15 04/24 Because of the logistical problems in giving an exam remotely to students in many different time zones, I am considering the possibility of dropping the second exam. If that happens, the midterm will be worth ~20% (vs ~15%) and the homeworks ~80% (vs ~70%), and some or all of the last three assignments may be weighted more heavily. I will announce my decision in a week or two. If you do not have a Yale Zoom account already, please get one ASAP. If have not familiarized yourself with Zoom already, please do so ASAP. If you are unable to log into the Zoo remotely to write, submit, and debug code, please let me know. If you have any other concerns, please let me know. Best, --Stan- Stanley C.
