We've heard that some students are worried they can't ask longer questions during ULA office hours because there are no more appointment slots, so we wanted to clarify our time limit policy. You are welcome to ask more complicated questions! We can and do handle longer questions when needed.

However, so that the queue can move efficiently, we do ask that students be prepared with specific (and as succinct as possible) questions when they sign up on the queue. We also ask that students make a good-faith effort to find answers/debug their code first, making use of the spec, newsgroup, readings, and GDB and Valgrind guides.

Students should in general expect to meet with a ULA for no more than 5-15 minutes, but the ULAs can shorten or lengthen the meeting depending on the length of the queue and the question itself.

tl;dr we want to keep the queue moving so that we can get to all of you, but please don't be afraid to ask us for help - that's what we're here for!

Hope you are all doing as well as can be and staying healthy <3
