Subject: UPDATE: Change to acceleration deadline
Date: Sunday, 12 Jul 2020, 16:56:36
Students may use acceleration credits (earned either by getting high scores on certain AP exams or by taking certain courses in the first year of study) to complete their studies in 7 terms. Details are available in the Yale College Programs of Study. According to the Registrar's Office, students may see how many acceleration credits they have by logging into SIS and running the report for "All grades/All terms" under the "Academics" tab; the number of acceleration credits awarded for each subject appears near the top of the report. Note: This may not work for rising sophomores, who may have to calculate the number of credits by consulting the table in the YCPS. If you need help, please let me know. The stated deadline for accelerating is the end of the 6th term of study. However, that deadline is now interpreted as "before the start of the 7th term." This change primarily affects seniors, who may now be able to take a leave this fall and still graduate next spring. For more information on how to accelerate, talk to your residential college dean when they return on August 10th. For more information on whether you would still be able to complete the requirements of your CS major, talk to your currrent class adviser: Class of '21 and BS/MS students: Dana AngluinPREV INDEX NEXTor Classes of '22, '23, and '24: Stan Eisenstat --Stan-
