Subject: lstat vs stat clarifying question

In your response, you said

"Unless the -L flag is specified, for -newer the relevant
time is that when the symbolic link was created, not
that when the target of the link was.  Thus fiend uses
lstat(), not stat() in that case."

I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. Does this mean to use lstat() when -P is specified and stat() when -L is specified?
