Subject: Double quotes

Hi
There is a section in the specs saying:
b. Within a double-quoted string parsley does not treat a \ followed by a $,
      `, or ! as an escape character.

I think previously it says that double quote behavior is optional? Was that referring to just that specific behavior or is this above part also optional?
